Transfers and Call Parks on ConnectUC

There are 3 ways to transfer a call:

  1. Blind Transfer: a blind transfer is when you transfer a call directly to another extension without consulting the person receiving the call.
  2. Consultative (Announced) Transfer: You also have the option to consult with the person you are transferring the calls to, before you complete the transfer.

On the desktop app, you will see 2 different transfer buttons for this purpose once you select that you want to transfer a call. On your desk phone, when you hit transfer, you will see “blind” and “consultative” (or can be labeled as “attended”. Exact labels can very depending on your phone model)

Call Park: Call parking is a feature that allows a person to put a call on hold at one phone set and continue the conversation from any other phone set. Some users prefer this option as opposed to transferring to an extension. They will “park” the car in a preprogrammed slot and tell the other user to pickup the call in slot 1 (similar to a landline with “pickup on line 1” or “line 2”). Call Parks must be programmed to use them. The “call park” feature is activated by pressing a preprogrammed button or by dialing *55 followed by the slot number.
